I haven't answered any questions on the blog in a while. I always answer your emails, but I like to share your questions and my answers with all my blog readers. so that we call all share the information with each other.
Q: I've started eating clean, but my stomach is having a difficult time with all the vegetables. What should I do?
A: This is actually a common problem. When you add more vegetables to your diet, you are feeding your body more fibers. Your body will probably get used to the fibers after a couple of weeks. To make the transition easier on your stomach you can cook the vegetables (sautee, grill, steam etc). If you continue being uncomfortable, you can also increase your fruit intake and decrease you vegetable intake.
Q: Why are the last couple of pounds so difficult to lose?
A: Your body doesn't want you to lose too much fat, and it is holding on to it in case you will start to starve yourself. You body is protecting itself and creating a reserve. Just keep on going and you will eventually lose them. They are worth fighting for, and you should be proud that you have come this far in your weight-loss!
Q: I love to eat cashews and other nuts as a snack, but I keep on hearing that they contain too much fat. I'm also afraid that I'm eating too much, since they are difficult to stop eating once you start. Should I stop eating them?
A: No, you should absolutely not stop eating them! They contain a ton of nutrition, as well as healthy fats. Just plan ahead, and you will be fine. Don't keep a bag of nuts next to you since that might lead to over eating. Instead plan when you are going to have them for a snack and measure up a 1/4 cupof nuts, (to give you an idea on how much this is, its about 23 almonds, which is about a handful) and put them in a glass container for later.
