One thing that I hear from my Clients is that it is sometimes a challenge to follow a LCHF or Clean Eating lifestyle when your spouse doesn't. My husband cuts out the carbs about 50% of the time, so I'm used to adjusting the meals in our house.
Here is what you can do
Ask your spouse to try new foods. Find substitutes that he/she likes. No use to force somebody to eat something they don't like.
LCHF
- Substitute pasta/rice with sauteed/steamed vegetables, or salad
- Eat cauliflower rice instead of rice
- Serve cauliflower or broccoli mash instead of mashed potatoes
Clean Eating
- Switch regular pasta for whole wheat pasta
- Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread
- Try recipes with low-fat diary instead of full-fat
Another thing you can try is that your spouse continues eating the rice and pasta and you just make sure you have vegetables to eat with each meal.
Below are the Swedish Shrimp Sandwiches we had for dinner Saturday night. My husband's sandwich on the left has bread, and my "sandwich" on the right has lettuce instead of bread. My sandwich was just as delicious (if not more, if you ask me), and a lot more healthier!
