This week's menu

I get a lot of questions every week about what I eat. So I thought I would show my menu this week and perhaps help you put together your own menu.

My husband and I go grocery shopping on Saturday morning (leaving Sunday as our day to relax). We sit down together to plan the week.

These are things we keep in mind

  • We try to keep a varied menu to ensure we eat a variety of proteins; fish, poultry, beef etc
  • We server veggies with every meal. Our favorite right now is brussel sprouts with pancetta
  • We always buy meats when it's on sale, so we always check the freezer to see what we have at home already. This saves us a lot of money and time.
  • We plan for meals we can bring to work the next day for lunch, and meals that the kids like so that we don't have to cook multiple meals.
  • We plan for a "quick" meal once a week (I have a lot of 30 mins recipes here on the blog you can try) to have handy on a busy night.

My menu this week

  • Monday - Grilled chicken with a tomato mozzarella salad (I don't ever add any carbs. I eat a protein and vegetables)
  • Tuesday - Salmon with a spinach salad
  • Wednesday - Veggie chili
  • Thursday - Veggie Chili leftovers
  • Friday - Grilled pork tenderloin with a turnip casserole

I picked fresh basil from our garden for the mozzarella salad. So yummy!
